About the Course

At the heart of great acting is one simple truth: listening. Script to Screen is a 12-week course built on the foundations of Meisner, Strasberg, and other modern techniques that train actors to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances.

We’ll begin by grounding ourselves in the basics—moment-to-moment listening, emotional connection, and truthful impulse work. You’ll build the muscle of presence, whether you’re in a black box theatre or in front of a camera. From there, we’ll explore text through plays, learning to break down scenes and find playable actions, before shifting into film and television material where technique meets technical precision.

Course flow

Weeks 1–6 |Oct. 20th-Nov. 17th | Foundations in Listening & Presence

• Meisner’s repetition, emotional preparation, Strasberg’s relaxation and sensory exercises, and truthful connection

• Scene work from plays—breaking down text, finding actions, and building relationships. A strong understanding of text analysis and story is the root of your character work

• Learning to build a character based in truth

Winter Break | Dec. 1st-14th | Midpoint | Dec. 15th - 22nd

• Class 7 (Zoom Callback): A practice Zoom callback where you can test you audition callback skills in real time on Dec. 15th (most callbacks are on Zoom now — even for Disney and major networks!)

• Class 8 (One-on-One with Carly): Personalized coaching with Carly. Can be used for a self-tape, branding revamp, or personal coaching session. To be scheduled closer to the date at a convenient time for the actor and coach. Between Dec. 16th-22nd.

Weeks 9–12 | Jan. 5th-26th | Getting on Screen

• Transition your stage work into film and TV sides

• Develop on-camera confidence: hitting marks, eye-lines, audition prep

• Keep your work alive and spontaneous while adapting to technical demands and learning to find freedom in your frame
